July 4th, 2010 Paragliding at Luye, Taitung, Taiwan

If you don't fear of heights

you must try paragliding once in your life!!

(These three paragliders were all our partners :P)

After I first came to Luye high platform, Taitung, Taiwan and knew that I could fly paragliding there,
I made a wish
I must try paragliding!!!!!

Fortunately, I found a few of  "young men" in our group who liked to go with me.
There were 9+1 people who would try this.
(One of us never wants to try this >"<)
We decided to try this at Taitung.
I remembered that Jerome murmured: "Why does somebody  want to jump out from a cliff? Could you allow me not to do this??  XDD"
But when we were there....
We saw the wonderful view there.....
Everybody signed the contract just liked that we had been controlled. haha~~

After we sign up the contracts, everyone walked to the platform to check how high it is.
WOW...... Jesus! It's over 300 meters
We felt more and more scared when we were watching others taking off.
When the assistant called my name, i couldn't feel myself XD
I only followed the guides and advises of the coach and felt nothing.
I was so~~~~~ tense!!!!!

The most excited moment of flying paragliding was taking off!!!
You would be totally controlled and pulled by the fully opend canopy
Then, you will suddenly fly into the sky liked a puppet!

Once you took off.....
WOW~~~~~~~~~~~  this view~ this height~  this freedom.....
It was really hard to speak out!!
My coach rounded me in the beginning and I screamed a lots
But my coach seemed very happy XDD
I got motion sickness after he rounded me... so I wanted to land
But my mind told me that : "oh~ no! others all stayed in the sky more than 15 mins,
I am the convener. It would shame if I only stayed in the sky for 3 mins.... "
so...I decided to stay there longer.....
The coach said that there were many people throwing up in the sky....XD
So they will prepare bags for customers.
But customer does not always aim for the bag.
One of the coaches said that after he had covered by vomit
He never rounds customers.  haha~~

No matter how afraid you are
you will love the feeling of freedom when you are in the sky.
Everyone who tried that said flying paragliding was fantastic!!!

A coach told us that he flied because he wanted to kill himself.
But he changed after he tried this!! (luckily, he was not my coach XD)

In Luye high platform, Taitung, Taiwan
The paragliding costs 1500 NTD
If you don't have license, a coach will fly it with you.

WOW!! how height it is!!!

fu~fu~fu~ Could you do this? ^+++^

Wei-wei was the first!
He was called to put on equipments once he signed up the contract.

Sascha was helping him to "relax..."

Don't be cheated by Casey's smile~

She was the last one who signed. XDDDD

That little boy helped a lot of people putting on equipments.

Comet was afraid to died. XD

Her heart beat frequency was 230 when she was waiting for it.

It hasn't happened for 10 years....  haha~~

Jerome was extremely "happy"
do you see his legs?

He had jelly legs!!

The backpack looks like a snail shell.
That was a parachute.

Three people would stand next to the canopy and hold it for preparing.

then,.... waited for wind...

then,...count to three.... let wind to open the canopy.

set.......

Yeah~~ here it is!!!!!

go!!!!!!!

wow~~~

Amazing!!!!!!

we landed....

Yea~~~~~~~h~~~~!!!!!!

We got it!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the handsome coach landing us safely!!

Thanks Casey, Joyes, Comet, Wei, Jerome, Jerry, Jennifer, Sascha, Robert  for providing pictures

  1. Hi,

I would really love to try paragliding in Taitung during my visit on this October 2012.

But i couldn't find any information about how and where to register ourselves for Paragliding.

Can you provide me with some information?
i.e. do we need to pre-book or is there any tour agent or phone or email which we can contact them?

    thanks in advance!

  2. Hi

    Your trip looks fun.

I am planning to go to Luye to paraglide too.. but there aren't any information about it on the internet.

May I know how did you get there? and did you have to make reservations beforehand?

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.
